Yes. Astro is currently phasing out all existing legacy Astro box users (i.e. DMT 3) and migrate them to the newer platform, such as the Astro HD box. There is an option for you to enjoy no installation fee, no additional fees, no contracts and you can retain whatever packages you have now. And HD Recording (HD+PVR) service are optional to subscribe.
Once Astro has completely phased out the legacy box platform, which is scheduled to completed on 31 Jan 2020, all legacy box users who insist not to upgrade to the new HD box platform thereafter, shall no longer able to watch all Astro channels. Therefore, you are encouraged to upgrade to the new HD box as soon as possible to avoid service interruption.

My astro decoder don't have audio output, how do I connect to a amplier, pls advice.....
You'll need to use find alternative ways by using your own devices/adapters to be able to output to your desired audio output type such as RCA cable a.k.a white and red port or digital coaxial output with the use of HDMI Audio Extractor device. You can get it online or electronic stores like in the digital malls. Or you can connect a digital optical cable from your TV's optical audio output (if have) to your amplifier.

Why is it that my astro often hang and I have to reboot at least once a day. There is also some kind of noise coming out of the decoder now.

Hi Sir /Madam, My condo as problem now centralise satelite for Astro since its upgraded to beyond a lot of residents fixed additional satellite at corridor which is irritating our eyes. Do you have any suggestions or solution.

Yes. Just remember to change the Input Type to "dCSS" at home>Settings>Installation Settings>Default PIN 0000>Satellite Settings
Change the Input type from "Universal" to "dCSS" by pressing the left/right arrow button, then keep pressing OK for few times to go further pages, then you can now enjoy the full recording functionality of your PVR box.

My Apartment is installed with Centralized Astro Dish and I was told the LNB is using DCSS. I only have one Astro Point in my living room. If i subscribe to Astro Beyond with PVR,

If the centralised satellite dish of your building is dCSS type, you will only need to connect 1 satellite cable to any of your Astro box (regardless of HD, PVR or Ultra Box). And if your premise has multiple Astro boxes, a cable splitter will be provided by Astro installer where it'll split the cable from the satellite port (F type) of your wall point into many cables. Therefore, you can enjoy PVR features as usual, including recording 2 channels simultaneously.

You may do it either ways. For instance, if you're going to watch Astro at a later time or going to bed, you may put into standby mode.

If I buy pvr. recorder will I be able to use existing cable . My cable for Astro now is internal..in the wall. Must I change the dish and use new cables.
By default, PVR box requires 2 cables connects to the satellite dish. But if laying additional cable are not possible due to any reasons (e.g. concealed cabling, wish not to drill wall to lay another cable, etc.), and using your existing single cable is your only option, you can opt for SatCR which it functions as if it is to combine 2 satellite cables into a single cable (your existing cable) for your PVR box. However, the SatCR costs RM50 and you are advised to inform Astro in advance if you wish to use SatCR before the installer visit your premise (so that the installer will bring along the SatCR for you, as not every Astro PVR customers would opt for it).
Therefore, you can use back your existing cable. As for the satellite dish, you can still use back.

My apartment currently have a centralised astro disc on top the roof. However the asteo users are unable to receive HD. How much estimated cost if the Management of the apartment to upgrade the centralised disc so that astro users can watch HD (Astro Beyond).

My HD channels always show "HDCP copy protection failed, please ensure that your TV and HDMI are HDCP support". I paid every month including HD channels and when I contacted Astro Care line, they couldn't provide any solutions for me. Recently, Astro technician came and change my decoder including HDMI cable, and I still facing the same problems from early year 2018 until now. How do I resolve this without requires HDCP splitter or changing to a new HDMI cable?
Does this happens since the beginning when you start using Astro HD box? If yes, then for your case, it seems that you are using an older TV model (with HDMI) that does not support HDCP. In this case, you would need a HDMI splitter that are able to bypass HDCP. You may purchase it from computer stores or digital malls such as Low Yat Plaza.

My house have already a Astro new decoder. I asked for a 2nd decoder to be added into my other room. Just wanna clarify, I was charged RM $94 for Installation and 30 m of the cable as told by them they only covered 10m. And no Receipt will be given as they have to issue back the receipt to Astro. How true is it may I know? I Find it very suspicious as was told during tele conversation will only subscription on pay RM$50. But now. As far as I know, standard installation includes 20 metres cable, not 10 metre. If it exceeds 20 metres cable, the installer shall charge you extra RM2.50 per metre.

Make sure Review Buffer Depth is NOT set as "0s", or else it will disables Time Shift function, making it unable to pause live TV.
The default setting is "30 minutes". Lastly, remember to select "Yes, save changes" to save the setting.
If you are still unable to pause live TV, then are you able to perform other functions such as rewind and record? If not, then there is a possibility that the hard disk inside your PVR box are faulty and you may need to replace a new PVR box (and you may bound with another 24 months contract). Do contact Astro customer service regarding the technical matter.

Do I need WI fi if I install a pvr ?
It is optional. Upon installation of Astro PVR, the installer will attempt to connect your Astro PVR box to the Internet (either via WiFi or LAN cable). It is to allow you to download and watch your favourite programmes and movies from the On Demand library. Some content from the On Demand library are either free content or paid content, and also depending on your package subscription.

Hi! My Astro beyond time and date is wrong. How to reset the date and time? Thank you.
You are not able to adjust the date/time on your Astro box as it is automatically sync from Astro themselves (via satellite or IPTV). If there is no satellite signal or network connection (for Astro IPTV), the date and time will appear as 1 Jan at 00:00 upon boot up until your Astro box are able to retrieve its service (have satellite signal/network connection).

I am about to subscribe to Maxis one home 100mbps fiber. Is it possible to get IPTV with this broadband plan? I live in a landed property at Jalan SS22/27A and currently have an Astro dish. Can I get hybrid installation
For new subscription, Astro IPTV with Maxis Fibre and TIME Fibre is offered only 10Mbps, 20Mbps and 30Mbps with RM148, RM198 and RM248 respectively, excluding GST. 100Mbps is still not yet available for Astro IPTV with Maxis Fibre at the moment. On the other hand, the recent free speed upgrade exercise for Astro IPTV with TIME Fibre starting from 100Mbps is only applicable for existing customers only. As of October 2017, Astro did not announce when will they offer 100Mbps speed package and above to new customers.
Hybrid installation is possible if your area is under TM HSBB. Meaning that, if your area are able to subscribe to TM UniFi, then hybrid installation is applicable for your area.

I have forgotten my Astro account number. Have no bill because I pay via credit card.
Go to Channel 200, select MY ACCOUNT. And then, select "View My Bill" and you will see your account number there if you are using Astro PVR box and connected to Internet such as WiFi. That is the easiest way to retrieve your Astro account number.
If your Astro box is not connected to the Internet, instructions are provided at "View My Bill" section by sending an SMS.

i am the building manager for one condo in KL, the installer was not able to tell me some info with our astro centralized system. can u help? i need to know if this system is dcss or lnb? where can i check? how do i know if the system is functioning/in good condition?
The simplest method to know if your building uses LNB or DCSS is this:
Make sure you have an Astro box (if possible, B.yond HD box) connected to the wall socket that connects to the centralised dish. On your Astro remote control, press "home", then select "Settings", then "STB Diagnostics".

Well I perhaps would say, as long if you can get a high satellite signal like what you see on the picture, where the "Strength" reading is 80% and above, and "Quality" reading of 100%, it is good enough in terms of signal reception. |

I am wondering is it compulsory to subscribe HD channels if I were to upgrade to beyond HD decoder? Is it possible to have a HD decoder without HD channels?
Currently I'm not interested in HD channels but I might subscribe it in the future. Therefore, I favor HD decoder compared to non HD decoder.
It is not compulsory (optional) to subscribe to HD service when upgrading to B.yond HD box.

From August 2016 onwards, HD service (RM26.50/month) will include PVR recording function (worth RM10.60/month) without additional charges and this is applicable to all Astro customers who subscribed to HD service, which the service is now known as "HD-PVR Service". To enjoy PVR function, you will have to upgrade to PVR box. Do note that regardless whether you choose to remain using HD box or upgrade to PVR box, the monthly fee of HD-PVR service remains the same RM26.50/month.
Standard PVR box installation require 2 satellite cables. Alternatively, you may opt to SatCR, where it functions to combine 2 satellite cables to your existing single satellite cable. It is suitable if you have a concealed cabling or your installation wiring plan is not convenient to wire 2 cables. The SatCR costs RM53.

Standard PVR box installation require 2 satellite cables. Alternatively, you may opt to SatCR, where it functions to combine 2 satellite cables to your existing single satellite cable. It is suitable if you have a concealed cabling or your installation wiring plan is not convenient to wire 2 cables. The SatCR costs RM53.

I subscribed the astro njoi TV recently and encountered a problem regarding the HD channels. The HD channels only able to watch by using the av cable. When using the hdmi cable, the channels without HD are unaffected. But the HD channels remain blank. Seeking solutions for this problem. Thank you.
You are experiencing HDCP issue through HDMI connection. You may try the steps:
1) Try rebooting your box.
2) Connect other HDMI cable/ports to your TV.
3) Try force software update your box. Click here to know how to do it.
3) If still persists, it may be either the set-top-box has technical fault, or your HDTV is older and may not support HDCP via HDMI. Do contact Astro customer service for further assistance.

Hi, I'm currently still using a very old decoder (DMT 3) and was wondering why hasn't Astro take the initiative to replace my decoder which is almost 10 years old when others had received offer for free upgrading and installation to astro beyond decoder years ago? I called up astro recently and was told RM100 would be charged for installation of beyond decoder. Please explain as why should I pay the installation fee when I am suppose to be entitled for a free installation just like all the other astro customers.
Do note that Astro has the right to change, or even remove the free installation promo at any point of time without further notice. As the installation rates are always changing, kindly contact Astro directly to get the latest information on the current installation fee.

Hi. Is the recording using PVR required an Internet connection? If i disable the wifi connection, do i still able to record my favorite programs? Thanks.
Recording your TV programmes does not require Internet connection as you are receiving Live TV channels using satellite dish. Internet connection is required if you download video on demand content from the OD library. Unless you are using Astro IPTV, Internet connection is needed at all times.

From August 2016 onwards, customers that subscribe to HD service (RM26.50) is now entitled to have PVR service without any additional monthly charges, including any Value Packs customers. Unlike prior to this, PVR service is an add-on basis of RM10/month (except Super Pack or Super Pack Plus). However it is up to the customer's decision whether to use a PVR set-top-box or the usual HD set-top-box as customer may have to pay PVR installation fee if they wish to get or upgrade to PVR set-top-box. In general, the PVR installation fee are range from RM150, RM100, RM50 or FREE, depending on customer's package subscription rate.

i only watch zee, hd channels. how much is it?
Do note that Zee Variasi (channel 108) has ceased transmission and will be replaced by TARA HD (channel 108) launching on 19 October 2016. HD service or Family HD is required in order to watch the channel. Read more here.

Before this, I have the old astro decoder(not support HD) and home theather(external speaker). The sound from tv can hear from the home theater and it easy to control just only from the astro remote control.
After I replace with the latest decoder(support HD), I can switch either HD(use hdmi option on tv) or NOT HD(use av option on tv) to watch channel. Of course, I just only watch on the hdmi option because it supports HD. However, the sound system on av option depend on the home theater BUT the from the hdmi option, it depends on both home theater and tv speaker. The astro remote now control sound only tv. not home theatre. If I want to use home theatre I need to take home theatre remote and use it to control volume.
I want the astro remote behave like i used the old astro decoder which control sound on the home theatre also. Please help me to fix this.

There's no solution for this.
You need to know whenever you're watching channels with Dolby audio (commonly on HD channels) and you enabled Dolby 5.1 audio output at Digital Audio Settings on your Astro decoder, the volume output from Astro decoder will output to its maximum, and volume control bar will no longer be applicable. You will have to adjust the volume by using your own home theatre remote control. However when you change to non-Dolby channels such as SD channels, volume control from Astro decoder will work as usual as you were expected.
So it is either you control the volume entirely by using your home theater remote control (if you choose to enjoy Dolby surround) regardless of SD/HD channels (remember to adjust the volume into maximum on your Astro decoder, so that you can fully control the volume by using your home theatre remote control), or you choose not to enjoy Dolby surround by changing back the Digital Audio Output setting into Stereo (Analogue and Digital) and it will behave the way you prefer when you use your old Astro decoder.

i already have a PVR decorder . if i did not subscribe to super pack , can i get the Recording service ? or i must subscribe superpack to get the Recording services ?
If you're certain that you are using PVR decoder, you should able to use the PVR functions right away. Generally, you can choose to subscribe to PVR service by adding RM10/month or subscribe to any Super Packs/Super Pack Plus as PVR service is already included.

How come I can't view live European Championship matches on my Astro On The Go when I can view them on my B.yond? Do I have to subscribe to view them On the Go?
If you subscribed to Sports Pack or the UEFA Cup - Sports Pass, you shall able to watch the UEFA Cup 2016 on Astro on the Go. Maybe there's an software error on your device/computer. For computer, you can only use Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari only. Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and other browsers are not supported. And you need to install the Astro on the Go video player browser plug-in as well.

I tried to record my favorite series and all episodes just go to my bookings and not even a single episode was recorded. This problem occured this past few days. Not just series,but any programs that i want to record has failed and moved to my bookings. I would like to know if the PVR function is for a certain period of time or is it available for the whole time? If it is available for the whole time of subscription,kindly advised on how to make my decoder record as usual.
Do explain it further on how did you perform your recordings on your Astro PVR. To record a programme that you are currently watching, press the "R" button on your Astro remote control to begin recording for the programme. Some programmes might have Series Link, so it will prompt you, asking if you want to record entire series or just this episode. Just select either one of it based on your choice. To schedule a recording, go to the TV Guide (press "tv" or "Guide" button) and scroll/navigate to the programme you would like to record. Once you found it, press "R" on your Astro remote control.
If that's what you did above mentioned, yet the issue persists, then try to execute PVR functions. Try pause live TV, rewind it, then fast forward. To go back to Live TV, press Stop button, then select "Catch Up to Live". If you can do that without error message or issues, then mostly there's no issue with the PVR decoder or your Astro subscription. Your PVR functions will be functional as long you did not terminate your PVR recording service.
To view your recordings, press "Play" button on your Astro remote whenever you are watching live TV channels.

I am not receiving my HD channels. Other channels okay. Why?
Are you not able to receive any HD channels at all? How about SD channels?
It could mean that your Astro satellite dish needs to readjust/realign. If your Astro dish is installed at the balcony/roof of your house, you can try to adjust it yourself (Disclaimer: Do it at your own risk!) or inform Astro to send a technician to your premises and solve the issue for you. For that, a Technical Service Fee (TSF) of RM50 will be charged if your Astro monthly subscription is less than RM100/month. If your Astro monthly subscription exceeds RM100/month, it will be free of charge.
If you are staying in high rise developments such as apartment/condominium/offices using centralize dish, it could mean that your building does not support HD channels receiving from Measat 3a satellite. You need to contact Astro about this.

Did you mean that you are using the older PVR decoder and would like to upgrade to the latest PVR decoder with build-in WiFi? Yes you can do it, provided that your 24 months PVR decoder contract has over. If you insist to change decoder even if your contract haven't over, penalty charges will be imposed for defaulting on the current contract . Upon changing to the new PVR decoder, your 24 months contract will be restarted. Also, you will lose all of your existing programme recordings on your PVR decoder as you cannot transfer your programme recordings into the new PVR decoder. The installation charges are vary and it is based on your subscription. The installation fee are usually range from RM150 to RM50 or even FREE, depending on what packages you subscribed. Do note that this is an unofficial Astro website and we are unable to assist you to upgrade the decoder.
