Astro Citra is now available in HD on channel 126, and a brand new channel, Naura on channel 125. Both channels are under Mustika pack. Naura: Muslim lifestyle channel. Astro Citra: Malay blockbuster movies channel, also featuring local mini-series, and international movie blockbusters. How do I enjoy this 2 HD channels? To watch this 2 HD channels, you need to subscribe both Mustika pack for RM12.95/month and HD-PVR service at RM25/month. Both Mustika pack and HD-PVR service are already included in bundle packages like Nilai Pek (Value Pack 1), Super Pack 1 and Super Pack 1 Plus. Existing Mustika pack customers are eligible to enjoy all HD channels in Mustika pack from 1-14 October 2018, which are Astro Warna HD (ch124), Naura HD (ch125) dan Astro Citra HD (ch126). These channels are available for B.yond boxes, and not available for legacy Astro box users. On technical aspect, the SD version of Astro Citra is now simulcast with HD, so the programming between the two Astro Citra channels (SD version ch131, HD version ch126) will be exactly the same. The only difference is the picture quality of SD and HD.
Due to that, the aspect ratio for Astro Citra SD (ch131) has switched from 4:3 to 16:9 with no letterbox (black bars on top and bottom) just few minutes after Astro Citra HD begins transmission in 1 Oct at 6.00am. Here is how the aspect ratio change looks like here. On the same day itself, the SD version of Astro Ria (ch104) and Astro Warna (ch132) now transmits in 16:9 aspect ratio without letterbox as well. Although without letterbox, the video of the channel is still in 4:3 aspect ratio, so it is more like "Fit to screen" rather than transmitting in native 16:9 aspect ratio. Prior to this, respective SD versions of the channels transmits in 4:3 video with letterbox on it, making the image appears smaller. |
